1. Why does VP software ask me for an update code?

This dialog is displayed when the installed software does not match the license stored in the hardlock. If you have received a software update you just have to enter the password you have received with your update. Otherwise, please check whether you have installed the correct VP product and version.
Should the dialog still come up on start-up, the hardlock may be corrupt or defective. Please execute the program Viewlock.exe, which you will find in the download section "utilities/drivers" (Hardlock problems), and enter your VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series serial number for the output file name. E-mail the resulting .BIN file to info @ softelec .com and keep waiting for further instructions.

2. Why does a full VP version only start in demo mode?

After starting a full VP product version you need to submit a user registration within 30 days (by fax, e-mail, or on the softelec website). After registration you will receive an update code to remove the 30-day license limitation message. After 30 days without a registration, the full version will only start in demo mode. In this case, please register your license immediately. Once you receive the update code, please download updatelock.exe from the download section "utilities/drivers" (Update Hardlock Tool) from this website and execute the program while the hardlock is connected to your workstation. Then, enter the provided code and the software will start as a full version again.

3. Can I use a VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series product in combination with other AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or ZWCAD applications?

VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series products create a profile during installation by copying an existing one, including some modifications on it. This profile is activated when starting a VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series product. Please make sure to install other applications prior to installing your VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series product. Then, select this profile during the VP program setup.

4. Can I install a VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series product with two different AutoCAD versions?

Normally, you can install a VPHybridCAD/VPmap Series product only once on your computer. It can be operated stand-alone and inside AutoCAD simultaneously. For parallel installations with several AutoCAD versions, please contact the softelec support team for further help.
